KampoArtes Gallery proudly presents Pagtanaw: The Inaugural Exhibition, the highly anticipated exhibition that follows in the footsteps of the resounding success of the Sangviaje art collective’s showcase in Rediscovery. Running from November 18 to December 9, 2023 and curated by the esteemed Jim Orencio, Pagtanaw marks a major step and a significant milestone for a gallery whose objective is to present a polyphony of voices and visions in Philippine contemporary art.

Bringing together a staggering 120 artists and representing a wide spectrum of talent from emerging voices to well-established figures in the Philippine art scene, Pagtanaw is a tapestry of diverse styles, themes, and artistic approaches. It acts as a vibrant kaleidoscope of creative expressions, each artist contributing a unique voice to the larger narrative of contemporary Philippine art.

While the word “pagtanaw” in the vernacular usually denotes in looking at what has come to pass, this showcase offers a panoramic view of the artistic landscape in the here and now, highlighting the rich and dynamic range of talent present in the Philippines today. The 118 artists carefully chosen for this show testify to how vast and inexhaustible the imagination of the Filipino artists, whose works span from the figurative to the abstract, from the plasticity of pigment to the robustness of sculpture.
